 You will be amazed at the length people go to.
"Real photos" only mean that, that the photos are "real." It won't tell you anything about the quality of the person behind the profile - information regarding their intentions, marital status, health status, etc. I have seen "verified" couple profiles that were in actuality just a man (using a couple profile for the ability to have a complimentary gold membership).
"Verification" can't be based on one type of information, in my opinion.

 I agree with BiggLala, I understand their intention in using "verified" photos but there's so many ways of manipulating them that it doesn't really prove anything.

Just look at mine, for example.

 I don't notice if pics are verified or not, so it makes no difference to me
